ForNow Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

ForNow is a local-first macOS utility for temporarily holding files, screenshots, links, and text.

We do not collect, sell, share, or track personal data.

Data Storage

ForNow stores your items locally on your Mac. This may include files, screenshots, links, text snippets, settings, archives, and app metadata.

This data stays on your device unless you choose to export it, move it, or send it somewhere yourself.

Clipboard and Screenshot Access

Clipboard capture and screenshot folder watching are optional and off by default.

If enabled, ForNow processes clipboard text, links, and selected screenshot folders locally on your Mac. This data is not uploaded to our servers.

Files and Originals

ForNow copies imported files into its local pocket storage. It does not move or delete your original files.

Analytics and Tracking

ForNow does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, third-party tracking, or behavioral profiling.

Accounts and Cloud Sync

ForNow does not require an account and does not provide cloud sync.

Feedback

If you choose to send feedback by email, your email app may send your message, email address, and any information you include directly to us. This is optional.

Security

ForNow is designed to keep data local. However, sensitive-text detection is best-effort and is not a security guarantee. You should avoid storing passwords, private keys, or highly sensitive information in temporary tools.
